The joint ‘Free Medical Day’ endeavor took place on the 17th of April at Al-Dissi government health care facility in Wadi Rum. The event –organised by the Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), featured for the first time a partnership with Jordan’s leading first rate insurance company, the Arab Orient Insurance Co. (AOIC).

The AOIC deal-streak has been running a while now, the company’s recently signed contract with ACT covers over 3,500 ACT employees and their family members. Moreover, this is not the first time AOIC contributes to the local community. The firm’s numerous efforts to increase insurance and medical awareness amongst people can be seen in the last few events they have sponsored or participated in; ‘The National Down Syndrome Day’ –as an example of an AOIC sponsored event, and their participation in the ‘INJAZ Business Leaders’ campaign.

“Our commitment to our society is the drive that stirs our progress. And our efforts to build public and medical awareness are exactly the kind of initiatives society needs…” said Isam Abdelkhaliq –AOIC CEO “We encourage a safe healthy life style. Make the most out of life!”

AOIC –This time, provided their co-organisers –‘ACT’, with 20 boxes of medications including around 2,000 types of medication for children and adults, male and female. And as a part of their medical awareness programme, a medical team of the AOIC-Aqaba Branch doctor, assistant nurse, and branch manager was present on site, and distributed out 6,000 Basic health awareness pamphlets providing simple medical information for effective prevention and health care.

“Next to the strong presence of the Arab Orient Insurance Company,” Samer Al-Fayez –Mayor of Aqaba, Moh’d Zawaydeh –Al-Dessi deputy in parliament, and Damen Al-Abbadi –Health care director of Aqaba, a number of ACT’s chief executives were present. Arab Orient branch Manager – Aqaba, Wa’el Armoush, was also onsite, at the event covered by National Television, Radio, and Press.
